    •  I’m not sure how Zac Efron got the roll for the movie. It’s absolutely miscasting to me. (Or he simply can’t act in general? Oops, that’s too harsh...ha ha) The discussion is fun as usual in this group. Thanks to David and the Cinephiles members who are knowledgeable about a variety of movies.
    • Chief Executive Officer & Producer
"Me and Orson Welles" is somewhat entertaining. Christian McKay dominates the film with his portrayal of the famous director. He convincingly emulates Welles's expressions, cadence and mannerisms. Eddie Marsan's portrayal of John Houseman is also noteworthy. The film's production and costume design effectively, if somewhat stagily, sets the film in the 1930s. Fans of Welle's films will enjoy this movie's off-the-cuff references to scenes from "The Third Man" and "Citizen Kane". Zac Efron is too polished to be believable as a naive high school student, and Claire Danes tries too hard to be both perky and worldly. "Me and Orson Welles" has the feel of a made-for-TV movie and will probably perform better in the rental market than as a theatrical release.
